What makes you happy? A festival is an event for collective happiness - wether, it is by enjoying a present experience, or projecting it in a supernatural future. Festivals are feasts for the senses and nourishment for the soul. For a photographer, a festival can be a blissful experience. However as one needs to focus (pun intended) on each shot, some sobriety and distance from the crowd is required. Therefore, the photographer is both part of a crowd, and a crowd observer. The later is, somehow, introspective.
I often asked myself: What brought them here? What are they searching for? Are they really happy? Are they fulfilling their expectations? That’s something you can also figure out, through these images.
