Doi Inthanon, Thailand
A visit to Thailand’s highest point. First time, in ages, I was feeling cold, There is a big thermometer showing the temperature, so people go there to feel the cold and tell the experience – something unbelievable to me, who can’t get enough of warm weather. Such a microclimate on a tropical area, it’s also very popular among birdwatchers. This little fellow was so willing to pose, I could not really miss the chance.
I wanted a bokeh background, so I used an aperture just enough to leave the bird sharp, and raised the speed to keep the ISO close to 100. The trick to animal photography is getting close which, in here, happened naturally.
