Nihiwatu, Sumba, Indonesia
It’s a property entirelly devoted to well being – a wild spa area. One single Villa is available for overnight staying. On here I wanted to picture the freshness of the pool water, and how this resting area fits the surrounding tropical forest.
There was a significant diference between the shadows of the palm trees and the bright skyes behind – HDR techique was needed. Also I prefered defined water drops over a normal waterfall blurred effect, so I had to raise the speed (1/500 in the EV0 shot). This led me to 450 ISO which was really the limit I could tolerate. f/6.3 would slightly defocus the background, but that wouldn’t matter in such a high ISO (for this camera model, of course). Stopping down further would sharpen a bit the background at the price of reducing the quality overal.
